PCI was inspired by the need to create awareness about the value, benefits and power of coaching and leadership development in Southern Africa and the imperative for organisations to embed this in their culture to develop and support leaders who have a strong disposition to generate sustainable solutions for their life, career, leadership, workplace and societal challenges.

What we do
We offer coaching and leadership programmes to decision makers who seek to embed coaching and mentoring as part of their organisational culture as a deliberate and intentional effort to consistently support their employees to be the best they can be and maximise their performance at all levels of the organisation.
We also deliver internationally accredited coach-training programmes that set all those aspiring to become professional coaches on a path to practice as internal coaches in their organisations, or as external coach practitioners, or acquire coaching skills for adoption as their leadership style.

Tamala Chirwa
Lead Coach
Tamala Chirwa is an International Coach Federation (ICF) Credentialed Associate Certified Coach specializing in Executive Leadership and Group and Team Coaching. She is a Certified DISC Practitioner, Corporate Trainer/Leadership Consultant. She has an MBA from MANCOSA, ACCA Diploma in Financial Management and a Post-Graduate Management Certificate from University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. During her twenty-year corporate career, she held various position in leading organizations in Malawi, South Africa and Kenya and excelled at delivering high-value solutions as a manager in the Finance, Administration and Human Resources Management functions.
Tamala Chirwa

Tamala is the Founder of Professional Coaching Institute (PCI), www.pci-mw.com – a coach-training company that develops professional coaches through coach-training programmes and supports leaders to embed coaching in their corporate cultures through leadership development and coaching programme. She is also the Founder of Women’s Leadership Footprint (WLF), www.leadershipfootprint.org – a Coaching Practice that supports women in leadership to be effective and impactful in their roles. Her past roles include Subject Matter Expert and Coach for the MBA Leadership Lab of the African Leadership University; Malawi Coach/Cohort Facilitator for the Breakfast Club Africa. Apart from developing women in leadership, Tamala works with and supports leaders who intentionally seek to transform their leadership journeys for their own growth and the people they lead. Her coaching philosophy is on the premise that high performers/potentials must be adequately supported to sustain the successes they register in their career trajectories to build powerful legacies. Her coaching and facilitation style entails guiding executives through life-changing personal/leadership development expeditions in their quest to succeed. She is committed to significantly contribute towards advancing the coaching agenda in Africa to enhance the leadership capacity of African leaders as they generate solutions to African challenges.

Bertha Nibatete
Associate Coach
Bertha Nibatete is a certified professional coach specializing in leadership, group, and individual coaching. She is an Organisational Culture Strategist, Policy Development and Change Management Specialist, as well as a Leadership Trainer and Facilitator. Her education background includes a PG Diploma in Public Policy and Management from University of York, UK, and BA (Social Sciences) in Social Administration from Makerere University, Uganda. She has trained in Managing Change and Growth for Organisational Leaders, Culture and Leadership, Human Resource Management, Customer Service Excellence and Performance, Project Management and Trade and Investment Promotion.
Bertha Nibatete
Bertha Nibatete is a certified professional coach specializing in leadership, group, and individual coaching. In her several years of working experience both in Uganda and Rwanda, she held several managerial and technical positions in the banking, national development, and diplomatic relations. She is a highly experienced professional with comprehensive skills in project management, organizational change and management, human resource management, performance management, policy development and trade and investment promotion. She has extensive knowledge in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies, programmes and projects that bring the necessary change to boost individual staff, leadership, and organisational performance.
Bertha is a Consultant CEO and Associate Coach at Women’s Leadership Footprint (WLF) and Professional Coaching Institute (PCI). Her role is to provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership for WLF and PCI and oversee the overall success of both organisations, as well as support the Founder in her role to empower others in leadership through coaching and training. She designs and delivers leadership development programmes through in-person, team and group training and coaching, as well as one-on-one individual coaching sessions with continuous client support throughout the programme duration.
